The members of Suzuki Innovation Centre (SIC) and Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) visited a government school in the village of "Mamidipally" and "Peddareddipet" to give special new year gifts to the students on in January. This was for the execution of "SIC Novelty project of INSTEAD OF GIVING YOU A GIFT, WE GIVE ONE TO A CHILD” for "Annual Networking Dinner Event" held on 23th December.
This time, we decided to provide 200 school bags embroidered with our SIC logo to the students in 2 villages, which corresponded to the number of guests we expected that night. Furthermore, we decided to add something unique for the new year occasion, external “Japan Hour”, which we usually conduct in the IITH campus.
SIC and SMC Japanese members appeared in “YUKATA”, summer version of Japanese traditional wear “KIMONO”, and gave them a brief introduction of Japan in the context of comparison to India, including geographical features, culture, industry advantages and disadvantages, and the 5 Secrets of Japanese efficiency in manufacturing. Children as well as the principal of the school, the local chief, and many teachers at the site had an opportunity to interact with SIC and SMC Japanese members directly so as to clear the doubts in their mind about Japan.
We were thrilled to find children's faces “Shining” (one of the 5 Secrets of Japanese!) with curiosity and joy by interacting with us. We will plan many more networking events in 2023 and would like to see more happy faces and hope to raise curiosities in children towards Japan.
